Following a mixed reception for his previous film, Salman Khan has made a strong comeback with the announcement of his latest project titled 'Battle of Galwan.' On July 4, the actor shared the first look poster on social media, showcasing him in a bloodied uniform dusted with snow, wielding a barbed weapon, and sporting a thick moustache.
The poster carries a striking tagline: 'Over 15,000 feet above sea level. India fought its most brutal battle without firing a single bullet.'
This film is set against the backdrop of the 2020 Galwan Valley clash and draws inspiration from the bestselling book 'India’s Most Fearless.' Salman portrays a commanding army officer, with the narrative focusing on India's valor during one of the most intense military standoffs in recent history.

The initial reveal has ignited excitement on social media, with fans praising it as one of Salman’s most intense roles in recent memory. Here’s how the online community responded:
Apoorva Lakhia is directing the film, which also features Zeyn Shaw, Ankur Bhatia, Harshil Shah, Heera Sohall, Abhilash Chaudhary, and Vipin Bhardwaj.
While the release date remains unannounced, filming is set to commence in July 2025. This project marks a significant milestone for Salman, as it will be his first portrayal of an army officer in a leading role. According to insiders, 'Apoorva Lakhia and Salman Khan are gearing up to start filming in July 2025, with locations in Ladakh and Mumbai over a 70-day schedule. Salman will be joined by three younger actors in this full-fledged role.'
The Galwan Valley clash in 2020 was a tragic encounter between Indian and Chinese forces in a disputed area of Ladakh. This confrontation, which took place on June 15, resulted in casualties on both sides, marking the first fatalities in the Sino-Indian border conflict in nearly 45 years. The conflict involved close combat with sticks and stones, as firearms were not permitted in the region.
